This time of the year is a great time to reflect on our family and friendships. It's the perfect time to catch up and get synced with our loved ones as well!
What I Love About This Season

The best thing about this season is... Hmmm, that's a tough one. There's so much I like that picking just one thing seems so, so ... disingenuous to the other favorites.
Memories ... I guess - Would be -somewhat- of a "best thing" I guess? Around this time of the year there is more "get-togethers" and family outings, although at times, those things can also cause a little stress too!
But after all the craziness and chaos that the holidays bring, the reflection of the events all make things worthwhile! Who doesn't melt when a childs eyes light up and the facebeems at the mere sight of the piles of gifts under the tree?
The meals are also a big part of those fond memories for me as well ... The aroma and smells that flood the corners of your mind of the seasons past.
Comfort foods trigger those thoughts of grandmas pies or a favorite Aunts nut rolls or a good friends confections sprinkled with their special touch - that never seems to turn out when someone else attempts the very same recipe.
There is always hope, Hope that each year that we spend tons effort and loads of money, that it turns into a fond memory. We strive to enjoy the rewards of the present, then we bank on the reflections and those memories, that we invested - later.
When its all said and done, it wont be the presents that are cast aside - only to have the box, that the gift came in, seemed more enjoyed by the youngster ...
No, it will come down to the time well spent and the fun unexpected things that will become new memories of good friends and loved ones. The best things in life are free, and the little things that often mean the most.

Holiday TidBits
Did you know the word "Holiday" is a contraction of holy and day? They originally represented special religious days, but have evolved generally to mean any special day of rest.
The Wiki entry for holiday suggests: Many Canadians will use the terms vacation and holiday interchangeably when referring to a trip away from home or time off work. In Australia the term can refer to a vacation or gazetted public holiday, but not to a day of commemoration such as Mothers' Day or Halloween.
